Shaun has finally been initiated into the "aussie" tradition of driving miles for a burger, milkshake ect ! Our neighbours at least once a week drive to Thirroul to take the dogs for a run about and enjoy a chicken burger by the beach ! After much teasing we decided to join them last night. Shane was right... we are converted the burgers are amazing !!! The kids had a great time ... going out at 6pm to drive 45 mins away to have chips ! Eden had a ball too !!!
the burger !!!
chippies !
What's wrong with the burgers at Passionfruit Cafe??? Haha. You forgot to mention the great Aussie cheapskate tradition of taking your own tomato sauce and cooldrink cans so you don't have to pay their rip-off prices!!!!
ReplyDeletewell...Shane bought his own bbq sauce ( agggh gross !! ) We bought drinks though !! ha ha
ReplyDeletei meant bought and paid for at the shop by the way ! we weren't that mean !!! (though Shane took his own beers !) Ha ha
ReplyDeleteHa ha. It's such a Beattie thing to drive miles for something. Reminds me of the story Mum always tells me - when they all drove to OLD for the weekend. Ben and I drove from Lightning Ridge to Brisbane for the night when we were first married - all because we were keen for dinner at Lone Star (in Tawooomba) - HOW crazy is THAT!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteShaun could not comprehend that people do it ! How long was the drive to Lone Star ? Its all about the adventure ! Bet you loved that meal !!
ReplyDeleteI think it took 7 HOURS!!!!!!!! Just typing that makes me realize how crazy we were!!!!! There was a live band playing in the restaurant - that was the highlight! Food was good too, from memory.
