We have gone to this festival every year since we have lived here, but only on the Sunday when the stalls and music and rides are on...in fact i had no idea there was a "locals only" day on Saturday ! The things you find out once you have a child at school !! This year Alex entered the "make an animal out of fruit" and a few of the running races. We made a "puffer fish" after pulling all the fruit & vegies we own out onto the bench and thinking of what to do. We had a half a dead watermelon and Alex was suggesting a turtle, an octopus , then i sliced some red pepper and he said that looks like a smile. He put it on the watermelon and said "i know a puffer fish"... then he added apple slices, cherry tomatoes and courgettes ! We dropped him off at 9am to be judged later in the day ! To be honest i wasn't expecting it to be a winning entry - but he was convinced his was going to be the best !!
We went home till 1pm when the races began...
