Alexs school is involved in a reading programme joined by 3 other "local" schools called "riding the reading wave". All together they are trying to read a million minutes by the end of the year. This doesn't include bedtime stories ect...just his home readers.... so far Alex has racked up over 350minutes ! Anyway today Alex went on his first excursion ! It was to Cronulla to join up with the other schools. They had authors there for reading and questions, played games, had lunch together and read, read and read ! The kids surprised us with a cute dance with their books ... see video below ! Mums and dads were invited too so we went along !
Alex's favourite bit of the day was catching a bus and he told me on the way back to school he fell asleep... his mummy did the same thing aged 5 on her first excursion !!
