It was a cold Tuesday night, Feb 2006. Uncle Shaun and i had just pulled up outside a restaurant in London about to go in when my mobile rang. It was your mummy, and me being a "beattie" i worried that something was wrong ! After a bit of small talk, mummy told me that she was pregnant with you !! We got out of the car an went inside to the Vietnamese restaurant and although we were there to celebrate Uncle Shaun's and i's birthday we couldn't stop talking about your arrival ! My baby sister was having a BABY !!! (little did i know that Alex was growing in my tummy at the same time!!! )
September soon arrived and on the 5th i received a text saying that Austin Luke Hulley had arrived safely into the world and my heart was filled with instant love for a baby i didn't hold until 3 months later ! In 2008 you came to live in Australia and lived with us for 3 months. It was a crazy, noisy time, but with so much fun and laughter too !
I loved watching yours and Alexs friendship grow stronger each day. You became a big brother in 2009 and moved around the corner from us so we still saw you all the time. My heart is etched forever with those memories... the beach, the ferry, Playing in our dirt garden, the black bikes at the playground, both of you at preschool, Santa at the Bowling club, Bobo brothers, moo moo, sleepovers, the fights over toys, watching you both get involved with your own games together , Peppa Pig, Charlie and Lola, the blue swimming pool, saos, my lolly jar, my pantry !!! You have moved recently pretty far away and we miss you very much not having you in the day to day of our lives, but you and Alex are still best buddies and i hope that lasts forever.
We love you so much Austin and have had to privilege to watch you grow into a gorgeous, clever, caring, cheeky, stubborn and just plain fabulous 5 year old boy !! Happy 5th Birthday buddy !
Uncle Shaun said to say that you still look like a monkeys bum !!!
